Meet Mrs. Hensler
Hello Everyone! My name is Austen Hensler. I would love to tell you a little about myself. I grew up near Brookston, IN and graduated from Tri-County in 2010. In May 2014, I graduated from St. Joseph's College with a degree in Elementary Education dual licensing in Exceptional Needs Education. Before graduating college my teaching experience began at Rensselaer Central Primary School. I was able to spend an entire year in the classroom. I completed my Student Teaching and then covered a semester long maternity leave in a first grade classroom. After an amazing year at RCPS, I took my first official teaching job at Delphi Community Elementary School. I was given the opportunity to teach a multiage 2/3 split classroom. My husband and I have moved back to the Remington area and I was hired to teach Kindergarten back at RCPS! I was so happy to back home! Last October my husband and I welcomed two adorable little boys Brooks & Larson. I took the rest of the year off to spend time with my premie boys. Now they are 9 months old and as healthy as can be! I am so excited to be back at RCPS and teaching First Grade! I know we are going to have a GREAT year!
My Family
Things I LOVE . . .
When I was in Elementary School I dreamed of traveling to Africa. My Junior year of college my wish finally came true! I was given the opportunity to study abroad through the St. Joseph's College Core Program. I traveled for 2 weeks in Ethiopia. I had a great experience. I am looking forward to returning to Ethiopia in the future.

Upon finishing my co-teaching experience, my cooperating teacher (along with a little help from our technology teacher Mr. Wynn) assisted our students in creating a "thank you" video. This video still brings tears to my eyes! I will cherish this video forever. |
